St. Andrew School

Philosophy

Our Mission Statement

In the tradition of our patron, St. Andrew, we seek to bring everyone to Christ.  As a school, we foster life-long spiritual growth, academics, social skills, and Christian values through the teachings of Jesus.

Our Philosophy

We believe that:

  • A child must know God and develop a loving relationship with Him
  • Catholic school educators and students are called to be daily witnesses of the Catholic faith within the community
  • Parents, as the first educators, and the school need to work closely and cooperatively
  • The development of wise decision making skills will reflect strong Christian beliefs within an ever-changing world
  • Reaching out to the community through service activities is crucial to the total development of a child
  • Promoting a positive school climate encourages respect and cooperation among and between faculty, students, parents, and the community
  • Students need to develop a lifelong love of learning in a safe environment
  • Children should be able to efficiently and appropriately utilize technology
  • Teaching strategies and assessment should vary according to the diverse needs of students
  • Fair and consistent discipline is essential for positive behavior and academic growth
  • Self discipline is necessary in achieving self-respect, responsibility, and a child’s personal best within each student
